The strange obelisks are always in pairs at a distance of 200 meters on Mallorca's north coast. In the past, navy towers were used for location tracking, hence their highly visible red tip.

The former direction-finding towers were built by the Navy and were used until the early 1970s to practice navigation using cross-bearings. A total of 28 direction-finding towers were built in pairs (14 pairs) in the Bay of Alcúdia, 17 of which have been preserved.

The larger tower is closer to the water. The smaller one continues in the thin one. Unfortunately you cannot go in or up to enjoy the view.
