              Since its full opening in May 2017, the Luther Trail 1521 has been a 400 km long pilgrimage/long-distance hiking trail from Worms through Hesse to the Wartburg near Eisenach.
              The Luther Trail is lined with interesting monuments such as churches, monasteries, castles and palaces and the former inner-German border.
              This trail brings you back to the past and offers beautiful nature along the way.

                Many paths lead from the historic city center of Eisenach to what is probably the most famous castle in all of Thuringia. But the route over the Schlossberg now offers hikers and those interested in Luther another highlight: At 15 locations, large information boards provide a more detailed look at Luther's life in his "beloved city". Impressive biographical pictures, sayings from the reformer and a look at important historical events during Luther's lifetime encourage you to look, pause and reflect. The sometimes very steep climb is interrupted in stages and thus seems less strenuous even for inexperienced hikers.
