The Weißenstädter See is an artificially dammed lake. It was created by the city in the 1970s and serves exclusively as a leisure and recreation area. At the lake many different activities are possible. Surfing and sailing are allowed in the designated areas and swimming is also permitted in the lake. On the weekend, it can be on the over four kilometers long riverside path ever full.
