On Cardada (1332 m), one steps out of the glass giant gondola of Mr. Botta and initially joins the excursionists, who purposely head for the first stop-off temptation or the valley station of the Cimetta chairlift. Ristorante and elevator are ignored, but not the large hiking trails. Right next to it leads the way uphill, first shady in zigzag, then sunny out to the summer economy of Alpe Cardada (1496 m). On a wide, rather washed-out path you cross the southern slope of the Cimetta and continue climbing to the Pian della Cimetta; last past the lift station to the summit with a beautiful panorama (1:30 hrs.).
Back down to the chairlift, then turn right into the saddle (1610 m) under the Cima della Trosa (1869 m) and on a good trail through the west flank to below the Vorgipfel (1862 m). Here you go left, following the tracks, and get to the highest point (2:30 hours).
The rather long descent leads first on the east side of the Cima della Trosa over a few bends in a nameless gap (1657 m) in the back of the mountain, then zigzag down to Alpe di Bietri (1499 m). Now continue on the sunny side of the Valle di Mergoscia over the old pastures and meadows of Faedo, Motta and Bresciadiga (1042 m) down to Busada and on asphalt into Mergoscia (731 m, 4:30 hrs). The village consisting of several hamlets received only 1900 street connection; It lies on the southern slope of a mountain spur, which drops steeply to the reservoir of Vogorno (470 m). Striking are the many old houses; the picturesque setting is provided by chestnut trees and vineyards.
