Bensheim is located on the western slope of the Odenwald, favored by the mild climate of the Bergstrasse. Spring starts earlier here! Discover the hustle and bustle in the beautiful and large pedestrian zone with its numerous shops, street cafes and restaurants. Many artfully restored half-timbered houses have been preserved in the city center. The Walderdorffer Hof is the oldest half-timbered house in southern Hesse and was built in 1395.

The beautiful marketplace is the center of Bensheim. The numerous half-timbered houses, some of which are even listed buildings, enclose the square and are typical of this region. In the middle of the Bensheim market square is a fountain whose origins date back to the 14th century. Here you will find many nice cafes and shops.
