The Meir is Antwerp's most famous shopping street and a lively place where history and modern allure come together. This wide promenade, which stretches from the Keyserlei at the Central Station to the Groenplaats, is a true paradise for shoppers. You will find a mix of international chains, boutiques and cozy cafés.

What makes the Meir special is not only the range of shops, but also the beautiful architecture. Stately buildings line the street, some of which date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. A striking building is the Stadsfeestzaal, a former party palace that has been transformed into a luxury shopping center with an impressive interior of marble, gold and glass.

The Meir is more than a shopping street; it is a lively artery of Antwerp, where locals and tourists meet in a vibrant atmosphere full of energy and charm.

The immensely beautiful Rococo buildings on the Meir house major European chain stores. It makes this traffic-free boulevard the pre-eminent hotspot for every shopaholic.
Antwerp’s Meir is the city’s most prestigious and vibrant walking and shopping avenue. You’ll find branches of many of the large international chains here in the stately 18th and 19th century buildings. Do visit Shopping Stadsfeestzaal, an exclusive shopping centre in the city’s beautifully-restored festival hall.
