The St. Pauli church is located on a Geest hill in the center of Flögeln, close to the lake, surrounded by meadows, forest and protected moorland landscapes.
It was founded around 1200 AD by the Knights of Vlogelingen. From the Reformed period comes an altarpiece with a Low German pleading, from the Lutheran period from 1659 a baroque Last Supper and the pulpit. With the foundations of the Bremen family Leisewitz (Prichen, romantic organ, picture above the sanctuary: Jesus blesses the children and a modern sculpture) she radiates unity and peace despite all the colors. The rectory dates from 1820 and forms a unity with the parish barn, in which the parish life takes place. To the community include the village Fickmühlen and a church cemetery in Flögeln. The parish office is connected since 1974 with the parish of St. Jakobi in Bad Bederkesa. However, the community is led by its own church council.
The parish council is well balanced of men and women of flies and fuckmills, and, with the other staff, is enthusiastic about keeping "church in the village" alive. The church membership is more than 90% - but it is still important to make the younger generations able to speak in the faith.
The St. Pauli community works well with the numerous associations in the village, but sees itself not as another club, but as the body of Christ. The children's dinner on Whit Monday, which was introduced at an early age, as well as the old form of the Holy Communion on Good Friday reflect in their fellowship the growing together of the old and young in the community.
