    The inland dunes are not actually constructed but restored. After all, there were already inland dunes and it is therefore about nature restoration. You can read about how the restoration of land dunes actually takes place here: wildenwandelparkmolenheide.be/single-post/phase-2-natuurherstelwerken-gestart Simply put, trees are cut down, roots are removed and a layer of litter is removed (currently there are trees somewhere in the area, by the way, real mountains with all that material). The latter, or more specifically the "scraping" of the top layer, often happens again in heathlands because other species sometimes quickly take over. Nature restoration and maintenance are never done. Removing the top layer of soil is called sodding.
