The Protestant parish church was built by the community in 1726 as St. George's Church.
After the renovation in 1962, it was consecrated as the "Christ Church". Another renovation took place in the 2000s.

Historically, the gatehouse was the gateway to the city. The gatehouse has been restored and now houses:
- the war memorial in honor of the fallen and missing soldiers of both world wars.
- and the Augezder Heimatstube.
In 1946, 120 displaced people from the agricultural village of Augezd [Czech: Újezd] settled in the north of the Upper Moravian Valley in Burghaun in eastern Hesse, where home meetings have been taking place since 1954. The market town took over the sponsorship of the Augezder in 1962 and since 1972 the Burghaun town coat of arms has combined elements of the Augezder and the old Haun coat of arms.

In the background is a branch of the bakery Happ with café. There are delicious cakes and coffee. Ideal for a short break to strengthen. Then you can join a short round through the historic town center. The tour through the historic Burghaun is supported by numerous green / white panels on which the historic buildings are described in a few sentences.
