The youth hostel on the Dilsberg in Neckargemünd is about 200 meters high above the valley. Have you ever lived in a city gate? The youth hostel is part of the completely preserved medieval city wall. Enjoy the picturesque village complex in peace. Completely traffic-calmed. Would you rather be a little louder? There is space to run around in the small castle park. And in the meadows around the Dilsberg. On warm summer evenings, the open-air stage on the castle wall beckons. You can experience pure culture in the Dilsberg Commandant's House, the cultural center of the Rhine-Neckar district. The view from the crenellated castle wall is also worth seeing. On the other side of the Neckar you can see the four Neckarsteinach castles. How about a hike? The excursion boat to Heidelberg also stops at the foot of the castles. Everyone aboard, the ship is leaving!

From 1921, the Dilsberg gate tower and its adjoining house (night watchman's house) served as a "migratory bird's nest". The municipality of Dilsberg rents the two buildings to Rudolf Müller's Heidelberg hiking bird group. In 1924, when the community wanted to terminate the migratory birds because of their own use, Müller and his group joined the Baden Youth Hostel Association (e.V.).
