A beautiful square with spectacular views, right here where the monument to the sea monster Scylla can be seen. Very nice up here and a meeting place for locals and tourists.

On the so-called "Strait of Messina", which separates the Italian mainland from the island of Sicily, we encounter Greek mythology: According to the poet HOMER - whose life dates are not known (generally assumed to be the eighth and seventh centuries BC), but who is Author of the famous works ILIAS and ODYSSEY - a female monster called SCYLLA lived in this strait, which repeatedly claimed victims among sailors.
