The oval main castle has a diameter of about 50 meters and is protected from the western plateau by a roughly rectangular outer bailey. The dimensions of the outer bailey are about 20 by 30 meters, it is secured to the west by a wall-ditch system. The main castle is protected towards the outer bailey and to the south by a well-preserved moat. The north side of the complex falls steeply towards the Aubachtal. A spur of the castle hill protruding to the east was separated by a ditch, the spur drops steeply to the north, east and south.

The castle hill has three knolls at the top, which may indicate the former location of buildings. A clear depression opens towards the south side. Masonry is not visible, stones and remains of bricks can be found on the surface.
