Les Châtaigniers d'Hougoumont are an important historical feature of the Hougoumont Farm, a site that played a crucial role in the Battle of Waterloo. These chestnut trees have survived the centuries and the battle of June 18, 1815. They are located on the south side of the farm, overlooking the courtyard and chapel on one side, and these famous chestnut trees on the other.

The trees still bear the scars of that battle, their trunks littered with bullet impacts. They are a silent witness to the fierce fighting that took place there and form a living monument to this important historical event.
