Tienray is a religious village. The church venerates Our Lady, as the name already shows from Trasteres of the Affluent. Since 1874 also Our Lady of Lourdes, which in 1877 the parish received the honorary title as "Little Lourdes".

Tienray is also called Little Lourdes. A veneration of Maria, comforter of the afflicted, is proven as early as 1440. The first chapel dates from the year 1459. The place owes its current importance to Pastor Maessen, who from 1874 expanded it into a place of pilgrimage. In 1877 Pope Pius IX granted Tienraij has the same spiritual privileges as Lourdes. The old chapel will be demolished and replaced by a hall church. Around 20,000 pilgrims visit the Marian Shrine every year.
