The Birth Tree Alley is part of the Hansjakob-Weg.
The Hansjakob Way
Heinrich Hansjakob (1837-1916) was one of the best-known and most popular writers in southern Germany. Heinrich Hansjakob repeatedly suffered from bouts of depression - due to a family history - which ultimately led to inpatient treatment in the Illenau sanatorium from January 6th to March 26th, 1894. He went on long hikes almost every day, which took him to his fellow professional friend, Pastor Albin Kern, in the rectory in Oberachern. "During the saddest time of my life, he was my daily, faithful companion and friend." The circular route takes us from the Illenau through the Eichelgarten, here is the entrance to the ice cellar, on the way to the water reservoir the birth tree avenue was laid out in November 2006. Past the mighty Heldenhain memorial stone, to the Antonius Chapel. Now we go down to the rectory and the church of St. Stefan. After the visit, he walked back to Illenau via today's Illenauer Straße.

Birth Tree Alley Oberachern ǀ New beginnings
The old tradition of planting a tree at the birth of a child was implemented here for Oberachern children. The demand for trees, each with a sign stating the name of the child, the donor and something about the tree species, was so great that after 50 trees it was over.
