From this point you have a beautiful view of the restoration of a flower-rich grassland in the Heidebos.
From maize field to flowery grassland. Both green in color but make a world of difference for insects. You see the first life when the willows bloom where bees collect pollen. Only when spring really starts do large numbers of insects come out of hiding. several species profile the flower richness throughout the summer. Others appear en masse for short periods, such as the orange sand eye that you only find here in the middle of summer.
Thanks to the design of this piece of nature, we hope to return to the full wealth of swarming colors. This project was realized in collaboration with the Provincial Council of East Flanders.

A walk through the Heidebos and then through the countryside. Lots of dirt roads so walking boots are a must!
