In the valleys on the left Elbe you can find the road towards Scharfenberg up to the left in the forest, the dreamy Scharfenberg Castle. The palace garden is also worth a look. Here you can celebrate weddings or the like, among other things.

Scharfenberg Castle is one of the oldest castle complexes in Saxony. Important thinkers and artists gathered here in the “Scharfenberger Circle”. Caspar David Friedrich, Ernst Ferdinand Oehme, Ludwig Richter and Johan Dahl came and went here and used the palace grounds as a motif for their pictures. You can visit the castle by arrangement - or you can simply stay in the hotel and let the artistic flair work its magic on you: schloss-scharfenberg.de.
