You can already see the Gooilust country house from the Zuidereinde. You enter the stately country estate through an impressive entrance gate. The country house was built in 1779 for Gerrit Corver Hooft, director of the West India Company. The architectural style is late Louis XVI style, recognizable by the baroque decorations above the front door.

Inside, the layout on the ground floor has largely been preserved. There is a central hall with an original marble floor, rooms on both sides and a large room at the rear with the original marble fireplace. Through the high windows you look out over the impressive triple beech avenue with the roundel where the carriages could turn. (Source: Natuurmonumenten.nl)
