Duhnen is Cuxhaven's most famous seaside resort.

Founded in 1902 from a fishing village, Duhnen is now Cuxhaven's most famous seaside resort. From luxury hotels to campsites, and from Michelin-starred restaurants to snack bars, all your holiday wishes can be fulfilled here.

Sunbathing on the beach, walks along the sea, hikes in the mudflats, strolling along the beach promenade, leisure activities at the adventure golf course and the playground at the Duhnen roundabout, horse racing on the seabed, enjoying culinary delights from the kitchen and cellar, walks in every season – that's Duhnen. Simply the refined and wonderful way to enjoy life.

As early as 1904, Duhnen was a popular seaside resort for its guests. In summer, clothing-optional bathing is also permitted on the designated nudist beach in Duhnen.

Cuxhaven (Duhnen) is a beach with a promenade, perfect for sunbathing, walking/hiking, and swimming (at high tide). It's part of the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea and offers many recreational opportunities such as mudflat hiking, beach volleyball, and the unique Duhnen mudflat races. The beach also features restaurants, shops, and a nudist area.

Activities on the beach:

Sunbathing in a beach chair or strolling along the long promenade.

Water sports and games. There are beach volleyball courts and shallow water for swimming.

At low tide, you can walk far out into the mudflats or participate in guided mudflat hikes. The Duhnen mudflat races, where horses race on the seabed, are a special event here in Duhnen. The nearby ahoi! Thalasso Center offers treatments using seawater and mud. A fitness studio has also been located at ahoi! for some time.
