If you walk along the riverside path along the Elbe during your hike on my "16km round trip ferry Laubegast, Pillnitz, Birkwitz and back", you have the opportunity to experience one of the best preserved towpaths on the Elbe. But what exactly is a towpath and why is it so fascinating?

A towpath, also known as a towpath, is a historic path that runs along rivers, in this case the Elbe. Using ropes attached to the ships, they pulled the ships step by step against the current to transport goods and goods.
