The Strada del Vecchio Trenino (Old Train Road) (also known by countless other names) is a pleasant and easy 10km (one-way) cycling and walking trail on a wide dirt road, which retraces the route of the former Rocchette-Arsiero railway.

At the end of the 19th century, industrialist and future senator Alessandro Rossi promoted and implemented a series of modernizations and infrastructure projects for his important textile factories, including the Torrebelvicino-Schio-Santorso-Piovene-Rocchette-Arsiero railway. Inaugurated in 1885, it was later modernized in 1933, decommissioned in 1964, and dismantled in the 1970s.

Along the route, you'll encounter numerous vestiges of the old railway: evocative tunnels, former stations, bridges, underpasses, and the classic modular concrete fences. It passes through silent woods and then opens out into the countryside, offering beautiful views of the mountain range of the Astico Valley.

Avoid on sunny weekends in spring and summer, as its accessibility and ease of use make it very busy with hikers, cyclists, runners, families, strollers, dog walkers, and others.
