      Start early! It's best to start at 8:00 am or rather already, because only max. 160 people per day may be high. For the ascent about 3 hours and the descent also 3 to 3 1/2 hours plan. You have to register at the entry point. I recommend to stop by to get the registration papers in advance. Then you can read in peace and fill in everything. So it does not take so long on the ascent day with the briefing etc. You will be equipped with a GPS locating device in case of an accident. Costs for the ascent 15 € to Kraterrand + 5 € additionally for the summit (as of 07/2019). Gloves are recommended for the Kraxelei. Of course, good shoes, enough to drink, small provisions, a thin sweater, fleece jacket, rain jacket and sunscreen are mandatory.
