The “Felsenruhe” is a cliff up to eight meters high and about 300 meters long, made of alkali basalt. This cliff is designated as a geotope and natural monument.

The geotope is very well signposted from the parking lot of the "Vulkan-Therme". First the path leads to the "Kreuzkapelle", which was built in 1853/54 in a mixture of the English Tudor and Swiss house style. Since 1938 there has been a figure of St. Boniface in a niche at the top of the gable end. A structural feature of the chapel are the visible oak beams and the blood-red setting of the niches. Behind the small church is a fenced private cemetery of the counts Ballestrem and Westerholt families. At the Kolping holiday village Herbstein, it goes to the geotope Felsenruhe. This natural monument is a striking, up to eight meter high cliff made of alkali basalt. A sea of blocks has accumulated at its southern foot of the slope. The cliff is about 300 meters long. The hiking trail of the rock tour leads parallel to the cliff with its steep, wide gaps and gives an impression of the massive shape of this striking geotope.
