🏰The landmark of Cochem,
the over 1000 year old Imperial Castle, located 154 meters above sea level above the town🏰.
High above Cochem on the Moselle, it rises as an attractive sight on a mighty rock with bay windows and battlements,
the largest hilltop castle on the Moselle🏰.
The medieval castle, which was owned by the Electors of Trier and damaged during the Palatinate War of Succession, was lovingly restored by the Berlin commercial councilor, Louis Ravené, in the course of the castle romanticism in the 19th century and rebuilt in the neo-Gothic style🏰.
