Alexander Calder, 1971
This sculpture by Alexander Calder is one of the artist's so-called Stabiles. It was commissioned by Bernhard Sprengel for Hanover in 1971. Today, it stands as a landmark for the Sprengel Museum Hanover, opposite the Museum am Maschsee.

The sculpture "Another Twister" stands directly in front of the entrance to the Sprengel Museum.

Until 2015, Alice Aycock's sculptures adorned Park Avenue in New York. Now a so-called "Another Twister" is also in Hanover. The large aluminum sculpture in front of the main entrance to the Sprengel Museum rises a full six meters into the air.

Alexander Calder: Halberdier (Guadeloupe).
The steel sculpture is eight meters high, measures about six by seven meters in its base area and weighs six tons. The red-painted outdoor sculpture, unique in Germany, was made in Tours, France and donated to the city by patron Bernhard Sprengel.
We had already seen the model of Calder's "Hellebardier" in the Sprengel Museum, and now the figure stands 8 meters high, bright red and wonderful in front of me.
