The public city park is located next to the Markt and is the green lung in the heart of Waregem.

The park
The castle was built in the mid-19th century in neoclassical style by Felix Deruyck. In 1897, Baron Casier came to live there and had the southern wing added. Since then, the castle has always been inhabited by the heirs of Baron Casier until the domain became the property of the city of Waregem in 1977. In 1982, the domain was opened to the public. The park, which covers approximately 8 ha, has beautiful groups of old trees, ponds with fountains, and has well-maintained walking paths and greenery. The entire park was renovated in 2015 and 2016.

Entrances: via the Stationsstraat, the Markt, the Marcel Windelsstraat and the Keukeldam.

The public city park is located next to the Market and is the green lung in the heart of Waregem. The protected park in English landscape style is approximately 8 hectares in size and is full of beautiful groups of old trees and water with fountains. In the past decade, the entire park has been thoroughly renovated.

As a visitor, you can stroll along the footpaths or the boardwalk. During your walk, you will also discover a few graceful bridges, a 19th-century pump mill and a former ice cellar where bats now have a home. You can relax for a while on one of the many benches or on the terrace of bistro Baron Casier.
