The Galli Furnace is perhaps the most relevant – and certainly the best preserved – example of pre-industrial archeology in the Val Sanagra area. The exploitation of natural resources has always been a vital necessity for the inhabitants of the valley, just as the current of the river was the main source of energy.

In 2006, through regional funds, the municipal administration of Grandola purchased the Galli furnace located in Val Sanagra. This building was an ancient brick factory made using the clay of the stream.
