The village image of Tildonk is largely determined by the imposing eclectic and neo-Gothic monastery and school complex of the Ursuline Sisters, which was founded in 1818 by pastor Lambertz. The complex was expanded several times in the 19th and early 20th centuries, including additional wings, a primary school, a farm and a convent chapel and church. Thousands of girls from home and abroad attended school or boarding school there.
At the end of 2007, the last eight sisters left the convent in Tildonk and the building was transformed into a social campus under the new name Engelenburcht.
In the building you will find the experience center '14-18, with stories of the German invasion and occupation during World War I.
The monastery garden is open daily.
