The hexagonal chapel stands on a step and is therefore two-story when viewed from below and one-story when viewed from the church. A steep passage with stairs leads through the lower floor. It rises from the lower ground to the height of the church. On the upper floor, the walls open into a hallway in delicate Romanesque arches. Many things about this building are unusual, such as the two-tiered roof with its pagoda shape. The chapel was probably built around 1230.

The hexagonal chapel is located directly at the main portal of the monastery church and to this day it remains a mystery as to what purpose it served.
