Campillejo constitutes a representative urban nucleus characteristic of Guadalajara's black architecture and although due to dimensions it is closer to the denomination of village than to that of town, its constructions of slate, wood and mud are, without a doubt, one of the most singular and picturesque along the route of the black towns.
Due to its excellent location, Campillejo is a perfect place for hiking, mountaineering (4 peaks over 2,000 m), mountain biking or road biking, as well as canoeing or kayaking, since only 15 minutes away is access to the El Vado reservoir, an extraordinary mountain reservoir full of meanders and surrounded by thick coniferous forests, where there is a canoe rental base.

It is one of the towns of the Black Architecture of Guadalajara. Its constructions of black slate, wood and mud radiate a singular beauty that invites you to stroll through its narrow streets discovering all its unique corners.

It is impossible to lose sight of the Ocejón peak, which is still present on the horizon, forming a natural wall together with the surrounding mountains.
