The Aprather Mühle was recently renovated from the inside. There is now a really beautifully designed sales room for honey, flour, potatoes, etc. made from our own beekeeping.

"... The Aprath mill is mentioned as early as 1504. It belonged to the property of the landlord of the nearby Castle Aprath. The farmers in the area had to have their grain milled here, which is why the mill is known as the Bannmühle.
The Aprath mill was built on the slope of the dam wall of the mill pond, which it towers over by only one storey. Towards the valley, the mill building has three floors, with the two lower floors only being exposed after the shelter was placed. Local quarry stone was used to build the mill, a construction typical of the region. On the mountain side you can still see an old millstone on the outside of the house wall.
The mill burned down in the 18th century and suffered considerable damage during the Second World War. However, the current owner had the building restored. Today the mill building of the Aprather Mühle is protected as a monument and serves as a residential building.
To the north of the mill is the mill pond, which is fed by the Brucher Bach, a tributary of the Düssel. The pond is part of the "Aprather Mühlenteich" nature reserve. ... "

The Aprath mill in Wülfrath, Mettmann district, was a ban mill. The building is a historical monument. It is entered under number 17 in the Wülfrath list of monuments.

The mill, which belonged to Aprath Castle, was built by Duke Wilhelm III. declared a ban mill by Berg in 1504. The farmers had to have their grain milled here and were thus "banned". According to another source, it was first mentioned in 1581.

The building burned down in the 19th century and was later rebuilt. There was considerable destruction in the Second World War. The current owner had the building restored.

The upstream mill pond to the north, which is fed by the Brucher Bach, a tributary of the Düssel, has a water surface of around 1.3 hectares. It is part of the Aprather Mühlenteich nature reserve, which includes other areas, especially along the Düssel, and is around 9 hectares in size.
