The Astronomical Clock, a Renaissance masterpiece, is the result of a collaboration between artists, mathematicians and technicians. Watchmakers from Switzerland, sculptors, painters and automaton manufacturers worked hand in hand here. The current clockwork dates from 1842.

The main attraction of the clock is its figure game, whose figure machines start moving every day at 12.30 p.m. At this hour you see the different stages of life - personified as a child, a young person, an adult and an old man - parade past death. Further up you can see the apostles passing in front of Christ. Their orbit is accompanied by the flapping of wings and crowing of a large rooster. The magnificent angel pillar rises in front of the clock, symbolizing the Last Judgment in its own unique way.

The Astronomical Clock of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Strasbourg is a Renaissance masterpiece, considered at the time to be one of the seven wonders of Germany. It has been classified as a historic monument since April 15, 1987.
