Wartenfels is a Franconian parish village that belongs to the Presseck market. The former market town in the southwest of the Franconian Forest is at an altitude of 483 m. ü. NN. and is one of 49 parts of the municipality of the Presseck market in the north-eastern part of Upper Franconia. The village is located in the valley of a nameless stream that flows into the Zettlitz at the southeast end of the village, a source stream of the Zaubach.
