Bronze sculpture: Mrs. Charlotte Müller, the oldest street vendor in the world. A small bronze monument was erected in 1937 for the oldest street vendor in the world, Charlotte Müller (1840-1935). It was designed and modeled by the sculptor Katharine Hobson-Kraus. On the front of the base is carved the inscription: "In memory of Mrs. Charlotte Müller, the oldest street vendor in the world (born October 18, 1840, died March 8, 1935).

Since 1937, a bronze (by the artist Katherine Thayer Hobson-Kraus) has honored women as diligent and constant workers and women's work itself. The figure of an old woman represents the street vendor Charlotte Müller, who lived from 1840 to 1935, i.e. almost a century, and became famous with her sales stand from 1889 at the Göttingen train station. She had a total of three daughters and was widowed twice. Many travelers have been able to recharge their batteries during short stays from their fresh fruit and sweets; other shops, such as Goetheallee, were too far from the station for travelers. In any weather, the woman known as the "old miller" sat faithfully and reliably at her stand, which consisted of a wooden table, an old pram and numerous umbrellas as a "protective wall".
Today she is considered the oldest street vendor in the world and the name "Charlotte Müller" is even listed in the Guinness Book of Records. But above all it is a Göttingen ORIGINAL!
