A beautiful educational garden, a little hidden in the heart of Ghent. The garden started in 1924 as a botanical garden at the Michel Thiery school museum, but over time the museum and the garden deteriorated and eventually closed.

The school museum was moved to Sint-Pietersplein under the name De Wereld van Kina. The original museum in the Berouw was renovated and the botanical garden completely reconstructed. In 2003 the garden became part of The World of Kina.

The garden of Kina is the oldest botanical garden in Flanders. In the garden you can see about 1500 species of plants, grasses and trees, spread over numerous thematic beds such as medicinal plants, dye plants, forest and dunes. The garden is accessible via a large entrance gate along the street Berouw.
