Memorial for the fallen of the war of 1870/1871
The memorial was created on the initiative of the veterans' association as a "state war memorial", i.e. for all those who fell in the war of 1870/71 from the towns and
municipalities of the Duchy of Lauenburg district. The unveiling ceremony took place on
June 11, 1879, the day of the golden wedding anniversary of the German imperial couple. The original location was the construction yard. In 1939, the
"state war memorial" was moved to Hohe Holz.
