On the corner of Laubengasse is the Neptune Fountain, designed by G. Mayr from Völs and cast by Joachim Reiss. The bronze statue is popularly known as the "Gabelwirt". It was built in 1777.
It is the only monumental fountain in the city. It was built primarily for hygienic reasons and to supply the townspeople with fresh water.
Neptune, cast in bronze, stands on a marble base with three dolphins spewing water into the three mussel tubs below. Previously, since 1578, the "Narrenhäusl" stood here, the pillory for the convicts, where prisoners were exposed to public ostracism by the citizenry.

The Neptune fountain can be found on the corner of Laubengasse. It was designed by G. Mayr from Völs and has a bronze statue decorated with shells, which was voted one of the 100 most beautiful urban sculptures in Italy.
