Here at the eastern end of the peninsula is the Marina Varadero with around 1000 berths, the largest facility of its kind.
From there it is only about 90 miles with a two-hour transfer to Havana. The marina is one of the few facilities on the north coast of Cuba where the United States is not a day's sailing away.
In addition to hotel facilities, the port area is home to a diving center, a small supermarket, a bowling alley, a few restaurants with a few souvenir shops...
In the extreme east is the small Cayo Buba island where a new luxury resort is being built. 🚴‍♂️
