What seems to be a recent trend in random locations is happening here on a big scale: Painted Rocks Beach has become a colorful rock garden with rocks of different sizes that are painted in tons of different ways. On most of the rocks you can see also dates. Some go back to the 1980s. There is also a bench for you, so that you can spend more time to discover this fascinating place.
PAINTED ROCK BEACH IS FULL of beautifully painted rocks commemorating family vacations, loved ones and beautiful ocean scenes. While you're there, you can look through all the different stones or add your own. The origins of the beach are uncertain, but the tradition is believed to have started with a local family in the 1970s.
