Based on the name Sonnen, the branch line of the Goldsteig hiking trail was created as a model of the solar system that can be hiked.

The path starts at the town hall next to the church in Sonnen with the solar model, a brief description of the hiking trail, the solar system and the sun. This is followed by the planets with the corresponding diameters and distances. It is easier for the hiker to imagine the distances because the planetary models and information boards are located along the long walking and cycling path Sonnen to Haselberg and in the same direction via Oberneureuth to Oberfrauenwald. A special feature of the hiking trail is that at the end of the 6.8 km long trail you can look back at the golden sun from the model of the dwarf planet Pluto on the observation tower in Oberfrauenwald. The educational hike is intended to promote health and show the beauty of our home on planet earth.
