The round silo was built in 1931/32 and has a capacity for 3,500 tons of grain. It has been listed as a memorial since 1972 and since 1986 it is no longer used as a granary. The round silo from the 1930s is a landmark of the Baltic Sea town of Eckernförde. The memory is also referred to as Rundsilo or Rundspeicher.
