The Rofanspitze, the third highest peak in the Rofan Mountains, is an easily accessible and popular summit destination.
That is why the rocks are very greasy and therefore slippery in some places.

The Rofanspitze (2259m) is probably the most famous peak in the extremely interesting Rofan Mountains - even if it is only the third highest. Thanks to the Rofan cable car, the summit can be reached on a hike along well-marked paths.
The panorama can't be beat when the weather is good and the many mountain lakes that you pass on the way up and down are great for cooling off on hot days.

From the summit of the Rofanspitze with 2259 m altitude you have a fantastic view of the Zireiner lake. The ascent from Steinberg to the summit cross is very demanding and also requires endurance and you should be free from dizziness and sure-footed at the sheep saddle (Stahlseilgesichert places).
