        Many years ago, the Sulz led to flooding. The valley from Berching to Plankstetten was a large lake. But a pike stayed on the meadow. A Berchinger who had never seen such an animal found him. He brought his find to City Hall. It was discussed for a long time and in the end it was agreed that it is a bird. All residents should see it.
        The fish was locked in a birdcage and put on display. The people gathered in front of the town hall and watched the bird. When he opened his mouth wide to breathe out his soul, voices could be heard: "Be quiet, now he'll be singa!"🐦
