Bozner Platz was built in the middle of the 19th century as part of the expansion of the city, but did not get its name until 1923.
The occasion for the erection of a monument was the 500th anniversary of the Belonging of Tyrol to the Habsburgs (1363 - 1863).
In 1877, according to the plans of the Viennese master builder Friedrich von Schmidt, who planned the St. Nicholas church in Innsbruck and built the town hall and other ring road buildings in Vienna, the monument was completed. The bronze figures are from Imster Johann Grissemann.
In the center of the water basin rises a fountain. At the edge of the pool, four stone pedestals are embedded, on which bronze griffins carry upright escutcheons and standards with the Tyrolean eagle or the imperial double-headed eagle.
On the well there are four water-spouting Duke Rudolf IV of HabsburgBronzegreifen. Under the column shafts, the base is covered with a bronze band. On the front is the inscription "1363 September 29, 1863", on the other pages: "To commemorate the 500th anniversary of the unification of Tyrol with Austria".
The octagonal pillar over the four upper wells is decorated with four lion heads, above is a coat of arms wreath: with shield (red-white-red) and the double eagle are twice the Tyrolean eagle and twice the Styrian Panther, the coat of arms of Carinthia and probably the Coat of arms of the imperial ore foundry (bell with cords).
The bronze statue of Duke Rudolf IV (with the Archduke's hat), to which Margarete Maultasch donated 1363 Tyrol, rises at the very top.
