The pass is beautifully nestled between the rolling meadows of Lüsen to the north and the Pütia meadows with the steep walls of the eponymous mountain (Sas de Pütia / Peitlerkofel) to the south. From here, you have access to one of South Tyrol's most precious natural landscapes:

Especially nice when you stay in the Ütia - the last view in the evening of the Peitlerkofel in the starlight, the first view in the morning of the Peitlerkofel in the very first morning light - and that largely in peace, without engine noise, because the narrow road is not so busy like the big, well-known passes in the Dolomites.
