The town hall is on the list of the UNESCO world cultural heritage. The town hall is a Renaissance building, designed by the architect Cornelis Floris De Vriendt. It was built between 1561 and 1564. The town hall is mainly built in the Renaissance style, but the middle section is already reminiscent of the Baroque. After the thorough restoration in 2018-2022, the town hall is a contemporary, sustainable and open house of government. A beautiful piece of ironwork from 1490 was made out of love for a painter's daughter. The father (painter) of Catherina Heyns despised Quinten. By making this showpiece he made an impression and he was allowed to marry his daughter. In the ironwork you can recognize images of Brabo and Antigoon. From the blacksmith, Quinten was taken into the world of painting.
