The Church of St. Peter is a three-nave, four-aisled hall church with a tower in place of the westernmost central nave yoke and a two-bay choir with a four-sided conclusion of a mid-breadth toe. The church was probably built in sections after 1285, in 1306 the choir was completed in Feldsteinmauerwerk. Then in the first half of the 14th century, the ship and then the lower part of the tower was also built in field stone masonry. After completion of the tower, according to dendrochronological dating (d), the choir was raised and arched until 1371, the rood screen installed and the nave vaulted. The later parts were executed in brick masonry. The tower was raised in 1415 (d) to the height of the bell tower. Then the vaulting of the ship took place in the first half of the 15th century. The spire was completed in 1583. As in the larger St. Jacob's Church in Stendal, octagonal pillars carry the divisional arches with stepped reveals and the cross vaults. On the outside of the choir is a sandstone relief of the Annunciation of Mary, created around 1430. Restorations were made in the years 1933/34 and 1979/80.
