The Hel Lighthouse replaced its predecessor built at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries after World War II. The building is a forty-meter-high orange tower topped with an equally red lantern with a gallery open to the public. The tower is located at the very end of the Hel Peninsula.

The Hel Lighthouse is an octagonal tower made of red-brown faced brick, tapering towards the top, ending with a gallery under a conical roof, on which is located one of the Hel radio antennas. The lighthouse is 41.5 m high, and its light (and viewing terrace) placed at a height of 39 m can be seen even from a distance of 18 NM (approx. 36 km). The light source is a 1000 W bulb, which in the event of burnout automatically rotates by 45 degrees, and a spare bulb is set in its place.

The octagonal, red-brick lighthouse "Hela II" has a fascinating history!
A visit is also worthwhile for the magnificent panoramic view of the island.
Until August 1, 1994, the lighthouse was closed to the public because the Hel Peninsula was a restricted military area.
