At the ruins of the Massenburg you will find a viewing platform that gives you a beautiful view of the city of Leoben and the surrounding mountains. The ruin dates back to the 9th or 10th century. However, the name Massenburg is only documented for the 12th century. In 1998 and 1999 the remains of the castle were uncovered and renovated.

03/16/2019 - In just a few minutes you can reach the ancient ruins of the Massenburg via the city park, the Dirnböckweg and the Massenbergstraße, through the former gate building into the inner courtyard of the ruins of the Massenburg. An imposing gate building and the remains of the building worth seeing, which are also used for music and theater events, have survived to this day.
