Saint Lucia asked the villagers of Skitača to build a church on this site. However, they kept reluctant to fulfill their wish, so that the saint finally climbed the nearby mountain, sat down on a rock and burst into tears. Tired and sad, she fell asleep after some time. When she woke up the next morning, she noticed a hollow of water next to her and washed her face in it. Since that day there is always water in the cavity and it has never happened that this source was dying. So this place became the place of pilgrimage of St. Lucia, the patron saint of sight and eyes, to which many believers, especially the weak and the blind, make a pilgrimage.

Great tour!
From Brovinje it goes directly up a very steep scree path, which is difficult to manage without hiking boots (at least trekking shoes)!
At the top you will be rewarded with a great view, before you get on Skitaca on a very nice narrow trail.
This turns into a long boulder road, which is exhausting and leads to sea level.
Then again on a similarly narrow trail that, as before, up (but not so far) leads. There is, at the height of the quarry, also a possibility for swimming.
From here it is about 20 minutes to Brovinje.
